Found in the coronary heart of a site crammed with olive trees, the original cortijo was a big, whitewashed building topped with crimson, ceramic roof tiles. The architects held the building’s framework and components palette intact and included a less difficult, gabled addition to the aspect — formerly a storage facility — to home 10 specific lodge suites that link to a timber-lined outdoor patio with a pool. A new courtyard one-way links the two properties and was thoughtfully intended to protect the root systems of existing trees.
